so, i moved to a new condo about 2 years ago. never got around to unpacking a bunch of large tupperware containers until this weekend.

imagine my surprise when i opened one and it was full of wolf 9mm. roughly 2,000 rounds or so!

i vaguely remember buying this about 3 years ago when i was shooting my 92fs a lot.

it's like xmas in june!

Should have a sign up

In Case of Fire
Stay way back
Let it burn.

If I was a firefighter I'd hate to respond to some of the residences of GiM members.

if there's ever a fire at my house it will be bad news. you have a point.

Its one of the primary reasons I only store a very modest amount of ammo in my house (less then 50 rounds).

The rest of the stuff is kept in the unnattached garage along with paints, kerosene, gasoline, week killers and other nasty stuff.

2000 rounds of 9mm in tupperware containers is no big danger. It is flammable but so are your clothes. The NRA did tests years and years ago. They found that the little pieces of brass that is sometimes expelled when rounds explode wouldn't even penetrate one side of a cardboard box. Ammo that isn't fully contained in a chamber doesn't "go off" and send a bullet downrange. The brass case just splits along one side. You find it after the fire with the bullet still crimped into the end of the case.

I was helping a buddy a few years back do some work under his house in the crawl space, we were crawling along with flash lights and he cracked his elbow on something and pushed it to the side and went on after grumbling a bit, when I got to to where he had grumbled I saw a ammo can, I asked him if it was his, he said he forgot about it but yea it was his...well? what's in it...FMJ he said...anyway we got the leak fixed and well the moral of the story is remember where you stash your stash
